It's hard to put into words how much our little, “big” boy means to us. He has completed our family in so many more ways than I can ever explain. He has given our children the lesson of opening their hearts to another dog and loving equally, along with boundaries. He has taught me more patience I didn’t know I could ever have as its been a very long time since I’ve had to train a puppy, and in return a better person. He is my therapy. He filled the hole in my fiancé’s heart, since we lost our old girl Jazz in June 2021 it was hard to live in a one dog household with our 7 year old Boxer, Mia. The process of getting him was a dream, from the moment we messaged Cat to the arrival of our sweet boy, I knew she was special and Turbo was treated as her own until he was in his new home with us. She genuinely loves her dogs and her puppies, sent photos and updates every single day and was always open to answer any questions. Still to this day she is someone I know I can call or text with no judgement. Turbo is now almost 4 months old and is truly one of the most well behaved, smartest dogs I’ve ever known and I am very familiar with the Golden breed since I’ve grown up with many. It took him no time to catch on to potty outside, he can do numerous tricks such as sit, paw, lie down and stay, with new ones constantly being learned everyday. His “mouthy” puppy stage lasted a very, very short time. He simply lives to please. He is proof that Gentrice Goldens is a one of a kind breeder of Goldens as they have the most amazing puppies, because of how amazing Cat is. Our family is forever thankful for him and we are so blessed to have a new found relationship with Gentrice Goldens.

We adopted a new golden after looking for some time. it was important to us to adopt from a CKC registered breeder in order to ensure that we were dealing with a reputable breeder that adhered to best practices. beyond that we were looking for a breeder that would be engaged with us after we adopted and be interested in how the puppy developed. we picked up "Rory" in mid-October and could not be happier. Catherine has given us great advice and stayed in contact as Rory has grown. He is a happy, healthy and very good natured and has been a great addition to our family. Catherine has been great as well. it is clear that breeding goldens is dear to her heart and not merely a business.

Since the moment we inquired about the possibility of buying a Golden, the process was effortless with Gentrice Goldens. Cat was always there to answer questions and explain the process very thoroughly. Once the puppies arrived and we got the news that a puppy was reserved for us, we were always sent pictures and made to feel a part of the process. Even when we were already sent plenty of pictures and wanted more (because who doesn’t love copious amounts of puppy pictures), Cat was always more than willing. She always offered to FaceTime as well, to allow us to be even more involved in the puppies’ first few months of life. Once the puppies were old enough, Cat graciously welcomed us into her home to meet them; and that is where we instantly fell in love with our Sonny. From the time we chose Sonny to be a part of our family, to the time we were able to take him home, Cat always gave us updates, pictures and videos. In large part, we attribute Sonny’s outgoing, calm, loving and intelligent personality to his first few months of life in Cat’s care. The love she gives to her animals is admirable and Sonny was treated like her own until he came home with us. Even to this day, Cat remains in contact – keeping up with Sonny and his progress and answering any questions we may have. Sonny is just over 5 months old and amazes us daily. He was potty trained at 4 months old and just learnt fetch. He has already mastered many basic commands and continues to learn more every day. 

The day we picked Sonny up, Barrett and I both agreed that we would recommend Gentrice Goldens to anyone. To this day we stand by our word. We are so very blessed for Gentrice Goldens and when the time comes where we want to add another Golden to our family, there is no question who we will call.

Working with Gentrice Goldens has been an amazing experience. Cat was both professional and welcoming. Working with her was not just working with a breeder. It was working with somebody that has a clear passion and love for what she does. Finding a dog with her wasn’t about money. It was about finding the perfect fit for our family and the needs we have. Yes, you could go with a “cheaper” option, but you won’t get the same quality or experience as working with Cat. She went above and beyond to help us bring our boy home to Germany. Which would have been extremely difficult without Cat’s help and guidance with all of the international requirements. Catherine, I am truly amazed with every aspect of our now 6 month old puppy and with the support we have received from you .

Catherine is always willing to help with any issues and quickly responds the same day. Highly knowledgeable, superb communication, overall a very responsible reputable breeder.

Ruby meets all Expectations in a Field Golden. This fall we will be training for fowl play . Testing her smell & working on energy levels . Keeping her bloodline strong .

On a daily basis Ruby receives many compliments on what a beautiful dog she is.
Her best feature, however, is her personality. She is calm, smart, sweet disposition, eager to learn, simply the sweetest dog we have ever met.

“ Turning Dreams into Reality “

We reached out to Cat in the spring of last year (2021) and her immediate response was warm, friendly and informative.

From that moment on,  we were in constant contact. We were kept informed during the breeding process and anxiously awaited the news of puppies..

Daily we would receive messages and pictures on the mothers to be. During this time it was easy to tell that the McGill family was not just another breeder.

The endless preparation of their family home as it was transformed and made ready for her fur babies.

Not long after , we got the news of PUPPIES! 

One of our first pictures was of Molly with her head rested lovingly in Cat’s daughters lap with the biggest smile.

As the puppies grew so did our friendship. Cat was always eager to respond to messages, phone calls and video chats, keeping us informed . She shared every milestone the puppies met with pride and excitement.

As the time grew closer to brining our puppy home to Newfoundland, Cat was always there to help with arrangements on the safest most comfortable way for her (Remi) to travel.

After what seemed like a lifetime of waiting, we finally got a glimpse of the little girl. She is everything and more than we could have ever dreamed of.

Gentrice Goldens are true to the golden Breed. Intelligent, even-tempered, friendly, lively, and loving. Which I believe is a testament to the care and attention that the Gentrice Goldens puppies were given from birth. The interaction with a loving family from day one, and the commitment to their dogs, insuring they go to their forever loving homes is truly unmatched.

Catherine and I share a love for golden retrievers. You can see how much Catherine loves her dogs and how they indeed are a part of her family.  

My family’s experience with Gentrice Goldens has been and continues to be remarkable. We are lucky to be in the local Brandon area and had the opportunity to bond with our puppy before taking him home. Additionally, Gryffin, our golden, was given a blanket with his mama’s scent as a going home present. It was very comforting to Gryffin to have familiar smells as he started his life with his new family.
